Dancers With Diverse Abilities
At Ashford, we believe that every child is a dancer. We offer a wide variety of classes for dancers who learn differently. All students are welcome to participate in our DWDA classes including those with physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, emotional needs, and those who may just need a little bit more individual attention. Classes are taught by highly qualified experienced instructors, and curriculum is developed by a NYS Certified Special Education Teacher.
The DWDA program is led by Miss Lindsay who has been with Ashford for over 7 years. Miss Lindsay has been a dance teacher for almost two decades and has worked in the diversity and inclusion field for most of her adult life. She is the Director of Communications and Stewardship for Best Buddies International in Rochester and sits on many local committees and boards advocating for inclusion and opportunity in our community. She is also an adoptive mom to her little boy who has complex medical conditions and developmental needs (and he also dances at Ashford).
If you have a question or need more information about our DWDA program, please send an email to our Program Manager, at Lindsay@ashforddanceco.com
